What is your preferred hypervisor and why?

So I'm just curious (both for business and for homelab / personal).

Honestly, I would probably rather use ESX / ESXi for both but I can't afford to pay that much when I'm doing homelab stuff.

I've been on the client side for Citrix, it worked well and was easy to use from the client side. Never had to manage it.
I've had friends build out VMware ESXi and honestly if I was going to do an enterprise deployment and didn't have a budget cap this is what I would use too. Hoping to get some Proxmox experience soon.
