About
I’m an Operations Director at an MSP, an Air Force veteran, and a lifelong tinkerer. Before IT, I served as an integrated avionics journeyman, working on aircraft systems where attention to detail and troubleshooting under pressure weren’t optional. That mindset carried straight over when I moved into IT, and I’ve been working in the field officially since 2016.
Today I split my time between leading teams and service delivery at an MSP and getting my hands dirty in the home lab. My day-to-day spans Windows and Windows Server, Active Directory, multiple Linux distros, and macOS, with Proxmox and Hyper-V handling virtualization. I’m a big believer that the best way to learn is to build something, break it, and build it better.
I’m not here to be fancy, just to share what I’ve learned, what’s worked, and what I’d do differently. If you’re into tech, development, homelabbing, or making the jump from the military into IT, you’re in the right place.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I've been using various AI tools to help be more productive and I think my original message still stands but I still see a lot of people using it for not so...
I'm not really working on anything specific to my homelab but I am working on the website this weekend.

So I did make something for this, however after reading all of the legal items I don't think I can complete this project without more capital, a business, and a lawyer so maybe we'll revisit this late...
Welcome, the best way to get started is to dive right in (imo). I think that is the most affordable way to start, so I think you have a good plan.
The new site is live, I was able to get it up faster than expected.
If you're seeing this, that means you've made it to my house!
Well we haven't made it there yet, but I'm slowly getting things ready.
I wish I could get something like that setup, I'm always too busy these days... :frowning:
Awesome, I have a new office coming soon (ish... Someday...)
