Hello all. I want to run a practice Debian machine inside Windows 10 on my old Dell laptop so I can follow a networking lab without risking the real system. I read that Windows has something called Hyper-V and that there is a free program called VirtualBox.
I opened the Windows features window to look for Hyper-V and did not see it in the list. I have not installed anything yet because I do not want to break the laptop. Does a missing Hyper-V mean my computer does not have it, and is VirtualBox a fine place to start then? Also how can I check whether the laptop itself can run virtual machines?
Thank you all. I will wait for your answers before I download anything.
